What needs to happen after a software launch?
Launch begins the operating life of a product. Agree accounts, documentation, responsibilities and support so your team knows what needs attention and who owns it.
Receive the ability to operate the product
Review access to hosting, stores and external services according to the contract and appropriate permissions. Record account ownership and how staff access is managed.
Request operating, update and deployment instructions and development setup documentation. Handover is useful when an authorized person can follow the steps.
Agree what to monitor
Scope failure monitoring, external service checks and backups around the product’s architecture and needs. Name who receives and acts on alerts.
Discuss how restoration is tested and what downtime the business can tolerate. These are operating decisions as well as technical settings.
Distinguish maintenance from additions
Clarify what defect handling and updates include, and what counts as a new feature. Agree the request channel, priorities and estimating process.
Review actual usage before planning the next release. Feedback from customers and staff helps direct improvement spending.
